In its endeavor
to have a
balanced
portfolio of
renewable energy
assets, OGPL
would focus on
Small Hydropower
as another
growth area. As
a strategy, the
company would
undertake Small
Hydropower
projects through
joint ventures
so as to benefit
from the
experience of
joint venture
partners. As a
policy, OGPL
would be
investing only
in those
projects which
do not have any
Environmental
and Resettlement
& Rehabilitation
(R&R) issues.
To start with
the company is
implementing a
Small Hydel
plant with 15 MW
capacity at
Orissa through a
joint venture
with the Company
- Pallavi Power
and Mines
Limited.
The
Hydro-electric
project is
located near
village
Tetulingumma in
the Koraput
district of
Orissa at a
distance of
about 70 km from
Jeypore and
about 30 km from
Govindapalli
town. The
project is
located near
Tetulingumma
Village.
The project
is designed for
a capacity of 15
MW and is
currently under
implementation.
The site for the
project has been
identified and
land acquisition
is in progress.
The project does
not involve any
Resettlement &
Rehabilitation
issues.
